We hoped it was a horrible rumor.
But it appears there’s more truth than fiction to the report that Howard Stern is being considered as a replacement for Simon Cowell on American Idol.The shock jock took some time on his show this morning to discuss the Idol rumors and in a very Howard way, he managed to stir up even more controversy.
While FOX has denied approaching the shock jock, Stern confirmed that there has been interest in him permanently joining the Idol judging panel. Perhaps most shocking of all, Stern thinks he’d be just the guy for the job. “If I do say so myself, I can’t imagine anyone else but me replacing [Cowell]. I mean, I don’t know. How else are they going to make that show work? Who knows how to broadcast and who knows how to be interesting? And who’s not afraid to speak their mind?”
If FOX were to hire Hoard Stern, it would cost them a pretty penny. The shock jock is finishing up a 5 year 500 million dollar contract with Sirius radio and Stern would require a similar paycheck to judge Idol. “They’d have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough.” So, what is a ton of dough according to Stern? He says he could be persuaded to judge what he called a “f’ing karaoke show” for $100 million dollars. “Yeah, I would do that show for $100 million.” How magnanimous of you Howard!
If Howard were to join the Idol judges’ panel, you can guarantee that there would be some issues between him and the other new Idol judge, Ellen DeGeneres. When he wasn’t busy demanding his bloated price or calling Idol a karaoke show, he spent his time lewdly dissing Ellen and the ways he’d shut her up. (Things I can’t write about on a family friendly site.) While reports of a Simon and Ellen feud may strictly be rumors, I imagine the Ellen and Howard feud has already begun.
Here’s to hoping that FOX realizes there are about a 100 million better ways to spend a 100 million than giving Howard Stern a place on American Idol.
We’ve all been hearing rumors about the 17-year-old star of Hannah Montana
for weeks now, but nothing beats hearing from the pop princess herself. Miley Cyrus admitted that she’s had it with all these tall tales about her, but she knows it won’t be stopping anytime soon. That’s why she’d rather discuss it all herself.
“People like controversy because that’s what sells,” the Disney juggernaut told Harper’s Bazaar in an interview. She appeared on the magazine’s front cover and talked about many issues that have hit her in the past. From the Vanity Fair shoot to the simple deletion of a social networking account, there’s plenty that Miley Cyrus has to say.
On her work with photographer Annie Leibovitz where the teen star was wrapped in a bed sheet, Miley explained: “Here, my parents are thinking they’re seeing a beautiful picture by a major photographer, and the people of America want to see something dirty in that?”
“It doesn’t make sense to us because [my family] doesn’t look for negativity,” she added. “[...] No one wants to look at something like that and see the positive because it doesn’t sell a magazine.”
Being a public figure certainly has its disadvantages, and the Hannah Montana star is aware of them. It’s the fact that millions of children look up to her making her a bit uneasy, but she believes that she isn’t the one raising other people’s kids.
“My job is to be a role model, and that’s what I want to do, but my job isn’t to be a parent,” Cyrus explained. “My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life.”
Living her own life is what Miley’s more concerned about, and a big part of it is her future. Many fans know about her upcoming flick The Last Song, which Cyrus is certainly proud of. But as for her next projects, she wants something better, something deeper.
“I want to do edgier movies–movies where you walk away feeling fulfilled,” she said. Talking about her music, the star added, “I’m doing a record right now that’s another pop record, and then I want to come out with an album that’s really who I am.”
Well here we are again with the public’s eye set on Miley Cyrus. She may have caused such uproar when she deleted her Twitter account, but apparently she hasn’t given up the Internet just yet.
Us Magazine reports that she posted a new video on her website, Miley World. In it, the Hannah Montana star was telling her 9-year-old sister Noah Cyrus to dance to a tune known as Akon’s “Smack That.” It wouldn’t be much of an issue if the song wasn’t the racy one that most of us have heard.
The clip seems to have been taken backstage, where Noah stole the spotlight with her performance. Everyone looks pretty pleased at what occurred, applauding and urging the girl to continue.
“Smack that, all on the floor. Smack that, give me some more. Smack that, ’til you get sore. Smack that, oh ooh,” Noah sang, while moving about and doing as the tune said.

Once again, the Cyrus family has managed to stir up this week’s pot of controversy. But Noah Cyrus may just be showing off her skills in performing, trying to best her sister in the entertainment business here. We can’t exactly applaud her or the family for what she’s displaying, but this isn’t how she’s like all the time, is she? This is all fun to her.
Noah obviously looks up to her 17-year-old older sister, so it’s no surprise she’s beginning to imitate Miley. This is the environment she’s growing up in so we can’t really do much about it.
As for the kids’ parents, they have been continually criticized for their decisions. Last October, they allowed their young daughter to wear a dominatrix costume for Halloween. Many have questioned Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus’ judgment on such matters, but it seems as though this hasn’t accomplished much.
Even so, Noah may need a bit of guidance here and there. Maybe Miley’s not the best person to give that though. She’s also just growing up as well.

There’s usually a significant story behind every tattoo, and Miley Cyrus has one of her own to tell. The star of Disney’s Hannah Montana recently caused yet another bout of controversy with news of her getting inked, and under her left breast no less. We couldn’t quite figure out what those words said, and what it meant to her until now.
Miley Cyrus was spotted last week sunbathing in Florida. But the paparazzi photos hardly did any justice to what was scrawled in black near her chest. Apparently, the words “Just Breathe” has been tattooed on the 17-year-old actress’ ribcage.
Now, it’s not just another song by the hit-making star. It’s probably not homage to Lindsay Lohan, who has “breathe” inked on her wrist. Celeblogger Perez Hilton says the tattoo is supposedly a tribute to Miley’s friend Vanessa, who lost her life because of cystic fibrosis.
“Just breathe” is supposedly the slogan of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, an organization that Miley Cyrus supported ever since she bonded with a 9-year-old girl she met at a Los Angeles hospital. Vanessa passed away in 2007 and this is just the star’s way of remembering her.
Despite the heartwarming tale, there’s still the question of the tattoo’s position. Well, it is close to the lung region so that could be one reason for it. Some fans also pointed out that it’s close to the heart.
Still, representatives for Miley haven’t declared whether or not her tattoo is indeed permanent. We may find out soon enough, but with her brother Trace being an advocate of ink, we’re pretty sure his sister’s gone that way too.
Before we hear any more announcements regarding those words underneath Miley Cyrus’ left breast, let’s check out some of her other projects. She’s been busy gearing up for several shows in Europe, staying in the UK rehearsing for the 2009 Royal Variety performance. Gossip Center says even the Queen will be in attendance to watch.
Other than that, Miley’s going to spend the holidays overseas for the Wonder World gigs, which will end on December 27 in Manchester. With all that’s on her busy schedule, that tattoo of hers will definitely come in handy.
