With “Hannah Montana” coming to an end, Disney Channel is in desperate need to launch a new talent like Miley Cyrus who propelled the network to success. The Mouse House, as reported by Deadline, is investing high on 13-year-old Bella Thorne who is given her own Disney Channel Original Series called “Shake It Up“.
The show debuted the pilot on Sunday, November 7. It follows Thorne’s Ce Ce Jones and her best friend Zendaya Coleman’s Rocky as they audition for “Shake It Up Chicago”, the nation’s hottest dance show. It recalls a lot of Miley’s first years on “Hannah Montana” when she lived up her dream of singing and Demi Lovato on “Sonny with a Chance” where she became an aspiring actress.
Nevertheless, at such a young age, Thorne has already starred in a number of acclaimed TV series such as “Dirty Sexy Money“, “My Own Worst Enemy” and the Emmy-winning show “Big Love“. She has also popped up on Selena Gomez‘s “Wizards of Waverly Place” before becoming the new Disney darling.
Disney Channel has in fact tried the same approach with now 17-year-old Bridgit Mendler in 2009. She was touted to be the next Miley Cyrus through “Good Luck Charlie” although the show never eventually matched “Hannah Montana” in terms of popularity. Adam Bonnett, senior VP of original programming at Disney Channel said about Mendler back then, “We just fell in love with her. She has all the attributes of a Disney star.”
The curtain lowers on the Miley Cyrus vehicle ‘Hannah Montana‘ for good after this season (beginning Sun. Jul. 11) — but not before a star-studded farewell.
Sheryl Crow, Ray Liotta, Jay Leno, hip-hop’s Iyaz, Christine Taylor, Dr. Phil McGraw and Kelly Ripa will make guest turns on ‘Hannah,’ and Vicki Lawrence (Mamaw Ruthie) and Dolly Parton (Aunt Dolly) will also return for the fourth and final season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In its final season, the Stewart family (played by Cyrus and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus) moves to a ranch, which includes a horse. Meanwhile, Miley has a choice of going to college with her BFF Lily Truscott (Emily Osment) or continue her music career as Hannah Montana.
“Everybody kind of grows up in the final season,” Osment told TV Squad. “We’ve all matured. We all have boyfriends and normal jobs and everybody has new hair and clothes. The kids who have been watching the show since they were little, we showed them that we all grew up together.”
Cyrus, 17, recently released her third non-Hannah album, ‘Can’t Be Tamed.’ Her first non-’Hannah’ film, ‘The Last Song,’ was released earlier in the year, and she’s currently working on the independent film ‘LOL (Laughing Out Loud)’ with Demi Moore.
Season 4 will be called ‘Hannah Montana Forever,’ and will also feature a salute to our troops and a duet between Billy Ray Cyrus and Parton.
Disney Channel has let fans to have a peek at the official opening theme of “Hannah Montana” season 4 which has been dubbed “Hannah Montana Forever”. The last season of the popular TV series will debut on Sunday, July 11 and it still uses “Best of Both World” as the theme song although “Ordinary Girl” has been used in the promos.
The first return episode is called “Sweet Home Hannah Montana“. The Stewarts move onto their new ranch home, but Miley and Lilly are aghast that Robby Ray has moved Miley’s old bedroom furniture, complete with white bunk beds, pink walls, pink bedding, dolls, a stuffed unicorn and Rainbow Piggy, into their new home, so they set out to make some changes. Meanwhile, Jackson must befriend an obnoxious new kid, T.J., in order to get close to his beautiful cousin Siena who lives next door.
“Hannah Montana” comes to an end after Miley Cyrus decided that it was her time to move on from the kids show. Disney Channel Worldwide programming exec Adam Bonnett previously said that the show will sign off with another big decision. “It’s one of the things she’s been wrestling with for months – whether it’s time to make a decision to continue being Hannah Montana or just be a regular, ordinary girl,” Bonnett said.

The 17-year-old singer and actress kept her balance in the peep-toe, Louboutin ankle boots by firstly clinging on to a wall and then by grabing the hand of an assistant who guided her down safely.

She is hoping sales of the CD will emulate those of her debut album Breakout which hit the top of the charts in the US in its first week of release in 2008.

And the video for the title track of her new album has been condemned for its overtly sexual content.
But she said: ‘The video isn’t about being sexy or about who can wear less clothes. It’s about explaining the song and living the lyrics.’
The daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley is currently dating Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, 19, who is her co-star in the movie The Last Song released earlier this year.
Disney Channel has just released a TV spot for the new season of “Hannah Montana“. Despite announcing that the fourth one would be the last fans will see of Miley Stewart and the gang, the promo is called “Hannah Montana Forever”.
The fourth season kicked off its production on January 18 this year and will begin airing the episodes in July. Containing around 11 episodes that will air throughout the year, “Hannah Montana” will wrap it up with one-hour series finale. “It’s one of the things she’s been wrestling with for months – whether it’s time to make a decision to continue being Hannah Montana or just be a regular, ordinary girl,” Disney Channel Worldwide programming exec Adam Bonnett said.
On another news, the show is including a dozens of military families in a concert scene. On March 12, Miley Cyrus and her father Billy Ray Cyrus have given them a chance to be the studio audience but they decided to do more with them. The kids will be able to greet their deployed parents via satellite.
“My dad has always been super involved with the troops so [the producers] always try to find things that are close to our hearts and that we’re really involved in,” Miley told People. Billy Ray chimed in, “This past December I was in Afghanistan and Iraq and that trip inspired the writers to say let’s do an episode to say thank you to the troops.”

is marching towards its finale, the show’s bound to offer up some great surprises to increase the hype. That’s not to mention dialing up the comedy for an upcoming episode titled “The Wheel Near My Bed (Keeps On Turnin’)”.
Just Jared Jr. reports that actor Jon Cryer will be a guest star on the said installment, and will be playing a crucial part in the series. He’s bagged the role of father to Lilly (Emily Osment), the best friend of the series’ lead character, Miley.
Most of us know the 44-year-old star as Alan Harper on the CBS comedy series Two and a Half Men. He’s had bad luck in relationships there, and it seems like that’s carried on to his stint on the Disney Channel series.
On “The Wheel Near My Bed (Keeps On Turnin’)”, Cryer plays a harebrained dad to Lilly. We expect the two of them to get along though, considering how crazy this girl can get sometimes. Maybe it’s in the genes.
The Hannah Montana episode starts off with Lilly’s mom (guest star Heather Locklear) taking on a new job which requires her to travel to Atlanta. Since she’s left alone, Lilly has to find another place to stay.
Her best friend’s dad Robby Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus) invites her over to stay with the Stewarts, which seems a very exciting prospect at first. Unfortunately, things aren’t as pleasing for Miley (Miley Cyrus). You’d think she’d be happy to spend the night with her pal, but she complains to her dad about their living arrangements.
When Lilly overhears, she decides to move into the cramped apartment of her dad, Kenneth (Jon Cryer). Too bad his antics could be far worse than Miley’s,

As his daughter Miley Cyrus tries out more mature endeavors in her career, actor and musician Billy Ray Cyrus is okay with letting go. He knows that the 17-year-old pop sensation will be busy with her projects, so instead he’s focusing on his own.
Still, one thing that keeps them together is the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. Now that it’s coming to an end, what exactly will these stars get involved with? There will be other shows and movies though, but the fans will certainly remember them most for this one.
Too bad for them, because Billy Ray Cyrus has confirmed that Hannah Montana
really is on its last legs. “The future is we are doing 11 more episodes,” the 48-year-old star revealed to Inside TV. “Disney will have new episodes to air all the way through 2011.”
A spokesperson from Disney recently announced that the cast is filming the final episodes of Hannah Montana, and after which will wrap up production for the show. Right now, the network is still airing season 3. Following that would be the installment leading to the series’ end.
Despite the arrival of the series’ final season, Billy Ray Cyrus has no trouble dealing with endings. He already took the opportunity to work on new material, which will certainly further him in his career.
During the premiere of his new flick The Spy Next Door, Billy Ray said, “Starting the year with [co-stars George] Lopez and Jackie Chan is a good way to do it.”
He added, “I laughed so much making this movie. I just stood around. I knew my lines and got to play this character Colton James, and become something very different for me, this particular role.”
When that’s over and done with though, Billy Ray Cyrus has things covered. “I have two more film projects after I finish ‘Hannah,’ and I am just excited about 2010,” he announced. Can’t say we’re really looking forward to it, but it still might be a commendable career move for the star.
The news of Miley Cyrus getting a tattoo has been flooding the web, in addition to images of her in a pink bikini. It’s common to see the Hannah Montana
star in swimwear, but what would really raise eyebrows are the words inked under her left breast.
Celeblogger Perez Hilton and Celebuzz.com report that the 17-year-old pop sensation was spotted sunbathing at the Fountainebleu Resort in Miami, Florida. She mostly talked on the phone while there, and was decked in hot pink, which definitely got attention.
Another little detail that wasn’t missed was the tattoo. It was placed just below Miley Cyrus’ bikini top line, causing quite a stir because of its location. Even Perez Hilton was appalled by the placement of the inked words since they looked like they were intended to be hidden.
What’s more, he questioned the decision because Miley just turned 17, and it’s illegal to get inked unless you’re 18. It’s either the tattoo’s temporary or the star’s been lying about her age. We’re betting on the former.
Perhaps this was what her brother Trace Cyrus has been pushing for. He recently told OK! Magazine that he and Miley were hoping to get matching tattoos, but that’s once she turns legal.
“I already have a matching one with my dad, there’s no reason I wouldn’t do it with my siblings,” the Metro Station singer revealed. “Someone you’re that close to, it’s something that means something to you obviously, so why wouldn’t you do it?”
Even though we’re still not sure Miley’s officially been inked, there’s one other Cyrus who’s already getting ready to go under the needle. “My mom’s going to get a ribcage tattoo that is definitely the biggest tattoo she’s ever gotten,” Trace revealed.

star, we’re just waiting for an official statement from her. Right now, we can only guess what those words on her torso mean.

If there’s one thing rumors are good for, it’s that they can be the foundation for good ideas. At least, that’s what Rock of Ages director Adam Shankman thinks so.
There have been stories circulating that Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus would be starring in the big screen version of the hit Broadway musical. Even though those aren’t true as of now, they could be in a few months or so.
Miley Cyrus has been a fan of Rock of Ages ever since she watched the performance. She even visited the actors backstage, and they later appeared for her 80s-themed party in New York City. It was her 17th birthday, and her mother surprised her with a rock-and-roll bash.
The next thing we know, Hairspray director Adam Shankman’s already cooking up ideas. He’s also her producer for The Last Song, so it certainly looks like these two are bound to work together on another project. Some time in the future, that is.
“It’s way too soon,” Shankman told E! Online during the Dizzy Feet Foundation event. He had also considered casting other actors, but the news about Miley Cyrus definitely stood out.
“I love it, though,” he went on. “She went to see the show and she loved it and then I had to email her and say, ‘I hear you’re starring in my movie. Fantastic! Congratulations!’ It was just so crazy. She saw the show and that was all.”
Unfortunately, Miley Cyrus rep denied the 16-year-old star’s involvement in the project. Again, it’s too early to say so. Whether or not we’ll be seeing the Disney princess don giant hair wigs is still unclear, but surely the fans are anticipating it.
Until then, just catch the Hannah Montana star on her show and on the upcoming flick The Last Song, as well as in her cameo in the second Sex and the City movie.
