Miley Cyrus Tour Bus Crash Kills One, Singer Not Injured
By · CommentsOne person was killed when one of Miley Cyrus‘ tour buses crashed on an Interstate in rural Virginia on Friday (November 20). According to The Associated Press, Cyrus was not on the bus that crashed at around 8:15 a.m.
Virginia State Police said one unidentified person was killed when the bus overturned on Interstate 85, about 40 miles south of Richmond. Multiple sources have identified the deceased as the driver of the bus; the driver’s name had not been released at press time. Another one of the nine passengers on the bus carrying Cyrus’ production crew was injured in the incident and transported to a local hospital in undisclosed condition.
TMZ reported that the bus was one of four in a tour caravan carrying the 16-year-old singer. Officials told the site that the roads were slick at the time of the accident, due to overnight rains, but that it was unknown at press time if the driver died before or after the bus went off the road and overturned.
Cyrus is slated to play a show on Sunday in Greensboro, North Carolina. A spokesperson for the singer could not be reached for comment at press time, but a source close to Cyrus confirmed that she was not on the bus that crashed. Photos of the accident site show the bus on its side in a gully by the side of the Interstate.

With her career as Hannah Montana
behind her, it’s difficult to imagine Miley Cyrus as anyone else. Even so, she’s been trying really hard to break free of that character. She’s been making her own type of music and has even appeared on a Sex and the City 2 cameo. Now, she’s all ready to expose her role in the Nicholas Sparks-penned movie The Last Song.
There’s been plenty of buzz surrounding the film ever since the 16-year-old popstar was romantically linked to her co-star Liam Hemsworth. But maybe all that was just for their scenes.
As we expect, it has family drama and it’s a romance. It has music too, and it’s not exactly what Miley Cyrus is famous for. Maybe that’s a good thing?
MTV News has posted the official trailer of The Last Song on their website, noting how transformed Miley Cyrus seems to have become since her Disney beginnings. Even she has noticed the change in herself and declared that this is the direction she’s planning to take in her career.
“I changed a lot when I was in Tybee Island [Georgia, filming 'Last Song'],” Miley Cyrus told the publication. “I feel like art really does imitate life. So just showing this movie, I feel like I’m really showing a part of my growth as a person as well . So I’m really excited for people to see it, just because of what it means to me, personally.”
Well, let’s just see what Miley has in store for her fans on The Last Song. Given the Parental Guidance note before the trailer, we can bet it’s far from Hannah Montana. Will her tweener fans stick around after this?
On The Last Song, Miley plays the title character Ronnie Miller. The musically inclined teen who got accepted into Julliard has been struggling with the divorce of her parents. But she has to spend summer with her estranged dad to “reconnect.” There, she lucks out and meets this volleyball player (Liam Hemsworth), who she falls for.
We all know the boy-meets-girl story, and The Last Song isn’t all that different from that formula. Then again, fans of Miley Cyrus might enjoy it anyway. The movie hits theaters in April next year.
Hannah Montana: Miley Cyrus Has No Time for Heartbreak

As her fans continue to wonder if she’s currently attached to anyone romantically, Miley Cyrus is just taking her time focusing on her career. The Hannah Montana
star has announced that she just can’t start dating anyone these days because of all the attention she’s given.
Several reports have quoted her saying how terrible she is at the whole dating thing, and would rather not push through with it for fear of heartache. “Oh, I’m not really good at dating. The whole game often ends with a broken heart,” the 16-year-old popstar explained.
MileyCyrusWorld.com stated that there are some things she learned from her previous romances. Whether it was with Nick Jonas, Justin Gaston or even her The Last Song co-star Liam Hemsworth, she experienced all the ups and downs of being in a relationship. What she’s avoiding now is the latter.
“And I really know how much a broken heart hurts,” Miley said. “I wouldn’t do that to anyone.”
When it comes to this Disney juggernaut, part of the decline in a relationship is the lack of privacy. It’s always been an issue with these celebrities. The few successful couples in Hollywood only remain so because they know how to keep their personal lives to themselves. Miley, however, isn’t as fortunate.
“It’s frustrating,” the Hannah Montana musician complained. “Whenever I want to be alone with a boy the paparazzi follow us. Sometimes I would like to wear a wig — like Hannah Montana. Then I’d have a more private life for sure.”
But before she dons a hairpiece to hide her true identity for going out on dates, she has to find the right guy for her first. And as of now, there’s no one. Or so she claims.
“There are a lot of people I’m supposedly dating these days,” Miley Cyrus announced. “But I’m just kicking it right now; I don’t really have time for a huge relationship.”

Hannah Montana: Emily Osment Made “All The Right Wrongs”

Miley Cyrus isn’t the only chart-topper in Hannah Montana, as her co-star Emily Osment has also achieved that status for her music. The 17-year-old singer has just released her EP, titled All the Right Wrongs, last week and already it’s hitting the high notes. As of now, it’s #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and gaining even more fame.
On her official website, Emily Osment posted a video of herself talking about what All the Right Wrongs means to her. She discussed which one was her favorite among those songs she wrote personally, even though all the tunes connect with her on a deeper level.

Emily Osment also allowed herself an interview with Eggplante!, wherein she truly delves into the making of her EP and everything she had to go through for its success. First off, there’s why she named it All the Right Wrongs.
“When it comes to naming your album, you really wanna think about it and I didn’t want to go the self-title route just because that’s boring, and I am far from boring!” she exclaimed. “It’s gotta be cool!”
Most of the songs in All the Right Wrongs, she explained, were about one’s struggle to survive being a teenager and growing up. “[I] f you can survive high school, you can survive anything,” she added.
Now, Emily Osment’s music is hardly anything like the bubblegum pop of Miley Cyrus’. It’s simply because this musician has decided that Disney just wasn’t the right path for her.
“I’m not gonna hold back and this is my music and music is about being true to myself, and I felt like if I was restricting myself and what I want to say in my record, I felt like going with Disney would be the wrong move for me,” Emily said. “They’re a wonderful company and I’ve worked with them for four years and they’re amazing people, but when it comes to music, I’m kind of creating another road here and I wanna go with another company.”
That might be the case, but there will always be people comparing her to Miley Cyrus. Emily Osment is simply has a completely different style in her album, and she’s definitely proud of that.
“You know, you’re gonna get judged, so it’s just like, listen to it, you know?” Osment said. “People are going to say what they want to say, it’s alright, write a song about it, it’s okay!”
After getting a role alongside Jackie Chan and Hannah Montana: The Movie co-star Lucas Till on the new movie The Spy Next Door, Billy Ray Cyrus has received yet another acting gig. It’s not a sequel to his daughter’s hit movie though, but it’s also a rather family-oriented flick that’s lined up for his career.
According to All Headline News, the 48-year-old country music songwriter and actor will be playing the lead role of Daniel Burton in a Hallmark movie titled Christmas in Canaan. While it doesn’t look like it will be have any other Hannah Montana
attachments there, he’ll still be portraying the role of a father. This time, however, to an unruly boy.
Billy Ray’s character Daniel Burton is dad to one of two boys caught in a fight. But due to unlikely circumstances, they are brought together in Canaan, Texas in the 60s. It sounds like your usual Hallmark fare, and it was enough to make the Hannah Montana star cry.
Initially turning down the role, Billy Ray Cyrus explained that he called Hallmark again and reconsidered because he remembered his own father. Growing up, he was told to emulate Kenny Rogers and branch out into acting.
He also said that his role on Christmas in Canaan definitely reminded him of his dad, who died in 2006. Accepting the part is Billy Ray’s way of paying tribute.
“I feel like this character I’m playing, Daniel, was my dad,” the Hannah Montana actor said. “Really and truly. It’s like I’m able to honor him on this role. And that’s a bigger thrill than I can say. I also get to sing the theme song for it. And it was just an amazing shoot, giving me a really challenging role to sink my teeth into and more depth than I was used to as an actor.”
Since he’s so used to being a dad, it’s only fitting that Billy Ray Cyrus take on yet another similar part. Then again, he’ll be breaking out of that stereotype once The Spy Next Door airs. But at the moment, let’s catch him on the Hallmark Original Movie titled Christmas in Canaan as it airs this December 12.

Something isn’t right in the world of tweens, as they seem to have turned their back on their heroine Miley Cyrus. Reuters reports that according to a survey done on the website JSYK.com, her audience seems to think she’s the worst celebrity this year. It’s shocking to see these 9-15 year-olds suddenly pointing this out, when they’re the ones who’ve been worshipping the Hannah Montana star ever since she was introduced.
Now, these kids are suddenly saying she’s worse than Kanye West and even Britney Spears. We all know how those two descended into notoriety, but they can’t possibly be better than Miley Cyrus, can they?
While it seems as though the 16-year-old Disney juggernaut’s popularity is dwindling, the truth is far from that. Her standing in the polls aren’t hurting her career, even though she’s trying so hard to leap out of that Hannah Montana image to be more mature.
E! News reports that the main reason why Miley was voted the worst celebrity influence in that survey was because of her contenders. Compared to the other actors targeting a tween audience, she stands out as the little devil in the bunch.
She’s been renowned for controversial photos, from Vanity Fair to the slanty-eye one. There’s also her pole-dancing gig and the fact that she dated a much older man, which tweens would definitely see in a negative light.
On the list of 2009 teen idols, Miley Cyrus is up against Taylor Swift (no dirt there), the Twilight cast (none, if you don’t count blood-sucking), Justin Bieber (who? oh, some Canadian singer on YouTube) and perhaps Vanessa Hudgens. Only the last name brings up a PG-worthy issue – the naked photos of her that leaked online.
Stephanie Cohen, editor of the AOL blog which performed the survey, shared her thoughts on why Miley was the one who ranked the worst influence. “Miley is in this transitional period where she’s trying to shed the Hannah Montana image,” she said. “Some of her fans just don’t want her to grow up.”
Well that settles it. It looks like those tweens aren’t too keen on growing up as well, even though we all know how quickly they’re “maturing” these days.
Miley Cyrus Talks Hannah Montana’s End
By · CommentsAs work on the fourth and expected final season of Hannah Montana draws closer, series star Miley Cyrus says she hasn’t yet given much thought to how she’ll feel when she puts on Hannah’s signature blonde wig for the very last time, because the character will always stay close to her.
“I don’t think that’s something that’s going to be completely over,” Cyrus told TV Guide Magazine before a charity performance at City of Hope’s Concert for Hope. “I’ll always be involved with that. And the show won’t just come to an end. There will always be reruns and stuff like that, and I think it’s something that I’ll always want to keep in my life. It’s something that has really affected me and put me where I am today.”
Now transitioning into more grown-up fare, the actress/pop star was also enthusiastic about her just-filmed appearance in the “Sex and the City” sequel. “It was pretty cool!” she said. “It was something I’ve always been really into. I’ve always really liked that show. “The cast was just so nice and the director was so nice. It’s such a friendly set.”
And Cyrus addressed her much buzzed-about decision to give up tweeting on her Twitter page. “The reason I mostly got rid of my Twitter is I was just like…I want to take more time to actually do the things I say I’m doing and really do them to the fullest I can. And I don’t feel like I was doing that. So I don’t really miss it. I think the greatest thing, though, is being able to stay connected, but that’s what phones and emails are for, and you can have private conversations and not have to worry about what other people are going to think and what other people are going to say about it.”
Even though it’s just a cameo, seeing Miley Cyrus alongside Kim Cattrall is pretty major news. The Hannah Montana
starlet was caught filming her scene for the Sex and the City 2 movie last Friday, in which the two actresses appear on the red carpet. While their presence alone would be enough to get anyone’s attention, it’s the fact that they’re wearing the same outfit that’s bound to raise a few eyebrows.
Access Hollywood spotted Cyrus and Cattrall in New York City, wearing matching metallic strapless dresses – silvery-bronze, I think – and knee-high boots similar to a pirate’s. The difference in their ensembles was the accessories. While both wore black belts studded with jewels, Kim had a hooped necklace and Miley wore a spiked collar. Very cave-womanly.
Another thing is that Miley Cyrus has black elbow-length leather gloves. She doesn’t have any lines in the film though, and her 53-year-old wardrobe equal was speechless as well.
We reported about Miley’s role on Sex and the City 2 before, but here are more details. Kim Cattrall’s character Samantha is supposedly invited to the premiere of a new film, one that stars her boyfriend Smith Jerrod. She thinks that a “hot and young” look on the red carpet would be perfect for her, so she purchases that sexy dress.
Unfortunately for Samantha, waiting for her at the premiere is Miley Cyrus wearing the exact same outfit. Even though she was ready to make a run for it, Samantha gets stuck in the glare of paparazzi photos and ends up sticking around.
Her gay best friend Anthony Marentino had a comment of his own though, even though the two stars were at a loss for words. He yells, “‘Mother of God. She’s wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana!”
Well, there’s definitely more hilarity on the big screen once Sex and the City 2 premieres in May of next year.
Who missed Miley Cyrus? Someone else, maybe. Her very eager fans have been clamoring for more of her ever since she walked out in the middle of a performance for her “Wonder World” tour. The Hannah Montana
starlet didn’t feel well, stressed out by her duties as a pop star. But lucky for her viewers, things seem sound now.
Earlier this month, Miley warned her fans on Twitter about how her throat was bothering her. “Woke up with a sore throat. Why am I always sick?” she wrote. “Think I’m gonna take one more nap before the big show here in [Salt Lake City].”
Digital Spy reports that later that day, Cyrus had to leave the stage while belting out her hit single “7 Things.” A stage manager informed the audience that the Disney princess was receiving medical treatment, allowing her to return minutes later to complete the show.
But apparently, the pain didn’t end that quickly. “My throat is yelling at me to shut up! Strep is the worst thing ever,” she Twittered again. This caused her to pull out of several shows throughout the tour, and further seek medical help. I guess there’s a big price to pay for being on stage constantly.
Miley’s burn-out lasted for about a week, but it looks like the doctors have done their job. She was allowed to resume her tour at last, kicking off a performance in Michigan tomorrow as planned.
“Got the go ahead from the Doc & the beast is ready to be unleashed!” Cyrus posted. “I always love performing in MI but this show is gonna get crazzzzyyy!”
Well, hopefully there won’t be a repeat performance of that sore throat of hers. Those Miley fans can be wild, and this 16-year-old pop princess needs to relax before a big day. “Sore throat ughh! Resting up for a killer show tomorrow! I LOVE MICHIGAN! I love when it actually feels like the right season.”
